Match Report
Epsom College Boys-U18E vs  Cranleigh School
On: Thursday, 14 Feb 2019
Venue: Away

WON 2-1

The 5ths travelled to Cranleigh on a gloriously sunny day. In the first half, the football suited the splendid conditions. Several exquisite plays in midfield from Kiran Doshi (C) and Cameron Ewins (F) created multiple opportunities. The McMurdo brothers led the early onslaught and each scored in quick succession. Charlie (Rn) struck first and then assisted his brother Max (F) shortly after. In the second half, complacency seemed to creep in and what had seemed like a one-sided match quickly became a tense, evenly-contested fixture. James Towson (Fa) made a series of brilliant, acrobatic saves to hold off the newly confident Cranleigh side. Eventually, Epsom conceded a goal that was struck magnificently by a Cranleigh midfielder from outside the 18-yard box. Epsom dug in, Jonah Drees (Fa) defending admirably while Adrian Tang (G) and Trevor Ho (G) continually threatened. Epsom held on to the final whistle of a thrilling match.
