On: Saturday, 12 Jan 2019
Venue: at Home

Drew 2-2

Epsom kicked off their season with an exciting draw. Playing up the slope in the first half, Epsom showed great promise and played some nice attacking football. However, Dunottar took the lead after some good build up play and the visitors went in to half time 1-0 up. The second half started promisingly for Epsom, Ben Berry (GH) and John Warfield (GH) both creating chances. Epsom’s dominance was rewarded when Kyle Ruth (Hu) got on the end of Warfield’s cross and put the ball into the back of the net with a fine finish. Against the run of play Dunottar scored their second goal but with ten minutes remaining, Warfield’s strike from outside the box rebounded off the inside of the far post to level the score - a cracking goal! Epsom went searching for the winning goal but were denied by a resolute Dunottar defence. The score remained level which on reflection was a probably the right result. Much to improve upon as he boys look forward to next week but a cracking game to start.

Goal Scorers: Ruth (3H), Warfield (3GH)

Player of the Match: John Warfield (3GH) - for his tireless work rate in both attack and defence, scoring one and assisting the other by delivering a fine cross.
