Epsom College Boys-U12A vs  City of London Freemen's
On: Saturday, 20 Oct 2018
Venue: Away

WON 30-15

The U12As had a great end to their first half term of rugby, putting in a tremendous come- from-behind performance to win 30-15. The first half was even, Epsom having plenty of possession but not being clinical in finishing their chances. CLFS eventually scored twice through brute power, but a lovely handling interchange from multiple Epsom players saw Louis Simmons (Hu) go over in the corner to make it 5-10 at half time. With the sun at their backs, Epsom then decided to play more rugby in the CLFS half. From this pressure, Simmons scored his second try, Caspar Curran (Wa) twice and Thabo Kuaho (GH) once went over from turnovers, while Oscar Lent (Wa) scored a superb individual effort. CLFS did score in the final few minutes but the game was over. This game was simply not about the try scorers as the grunt and dirty work by players such as Jacob Elliott (GH), Ollie Crabb (GH) and Ed Green (Hu) meant others could be creative with ball in hand. Dougal Freeman (Hu) showed not only dogged defence but also creativity and danger in attack. A great performance to cap off the enormous development all players have shown this half term. With some tough opposition after half term, the team will need to continue working and improving to demonstrate the talent and potential they possess.

Tries: Simmons (Hu) x2, Curran (Wa) x2, Lent (Wa), Kuaho (GH)

Players of the Match: Dougal Freeman (Hu) and Jacob Elliott (GH)
