Match Report
Epsom College Boys-U16C vs  Tonbridge School
On: Saturday, 19 Jan 2019
Venue: at Home

Lost 0-5

As the score suggests, the U16Cs came up against a strong, experienced and well-organised team, and came a deserved second. Only a handful of boys really matched the physical challenge laid down by Tonbridge and such hesitancy makes a real difference at this level, especially when allied with a lack of composure, communication and positional sense. Nevertheless, it was a salutary learning experience and a number of boys emerged with real credit. Max Way (C), Matt Dipre (H) and Lewis Falworth (G) grew in stature through the game, while Alex Wilkinson (Rn) ran hard and looked threatening on the few occasions he was well serviced. As boys find their best position and become more vocal they should grow in confidence over the season. If they do so then there is every chance that the results will improve, as there is undoubted untapped talent within the squad. Heads did not drop and the boys played in a gentlemanly fashion throughout.
