Match Report
Epsom College 1st XV vs  Brighton College
On: Saturday, 10 Nov 2018
Venue: Away

Lost 8-29

The 1st XV were beaten by a good Brighton College side, after a long and hard week of rugby. With some players unavailable after Tuesday's cup game, Epsom played some of their younger players, which showed somewhat in the first half against a mostly U6th Brighton side. Brighton were up 10-0 at half time after a penalty and a set piece backs move from a 5 metre scrum. Epsom did create some chances in the second half but were unable to convert them, while Brighton saw their lead go to 22-0 after two more tries. Jack Jesty (G) then hit a penalty from 40 metres, while Makeen Alikhan (Rn) went over in the corner to make it 8-22. An unfortunate interception try as Epsom pressed made the final score one that does not do justice to the effort of a relatively inexperienced side. Plenty to work on before RGS and Hurstpierpoint coming up.

Try: Alikhan (Rn)

Player of the Match: Makeen Alikhan (Rn)
