Epsom College Girls-U15B vs  St John's School, Leatherhead
On: Saturday, 01 Dec 2018
Venue: Away

WON 1-0

The U15Bs fought hard for a 1-0 win in a tough and gruelling match against a resilient St John’s team. Epsom started slowly and had to fend off a barrage of St John’s attacks, but the defence held firm. Due to some last-ditch interventions from Lucy Ellis (W) and Amy Head (Rv), Epsom managed to get to half time still on level terms. Following some frank discussions at the break, Epsom flew out in the second half with much greater intensity. Sabrina Singh (Rv) was a defender possessed, crashing into one amazing tackle after another. Up the other end, some excellent link-up play between Arianna Menassa (Rv), Mia Smiley (Rv) and Lois Lillie (Rv) saw Epsom win several short corners, putting St John’s under serious pressure. St John’s finally cracked and Menassa converted the second ball from a short corner to score the only goal of the game. From there on there was much more control of the match, and the girls managed to keep a clean sheet to seal the win.

Goal Scorer: Menassa (Rv)

Player of the Match: Lois Lillie (Rv)
