Match Report
Epsom College Girls-U12A vs  St John's School, Leatherhead
On: Saturday, 01 Dec 2018
Venue: Away

Drew 2-2

Another very wet game for the U12As did not stop them putting in a great performance, in a game that could have either way. St John’s opened the scoring early in the first half, in what was a very tense first half. Defenders Madeleine O'Brien (GH) and Edie McLennan Fordyce (GH) deserve a lot of credit for tidying up with some great tackling. This set up Epsom to be on the front foot and enabled Lucy Campbell (Hu) to get a number of shots on goal, resulting in Gina Carrington (Wa) picking up the rebound and slotting it home to make the score 1-1 at half time. The second half started with Epsom pressing hard, and again a number of good chances were created. This time from a rebound, Lucy Campbell (Hu) found the foot of a defender on the goal line to win a penalty stroke. Carrington stepped up to slot it home and put Epsom 2-1 in the lead. The game was very much end to end and St John’s came back with a goal five minutes from time to leave the game level at 2-2. It was a great game of hockey to watch and could have easily gone either way but for some good defending. The girls can look forward to their last fixture before Christmas with excitement.
