Match Report
Epsom College Girls-U12D vs  St John's School, Leatherhead
On: Saturday, 01 Dec 2018
Venue: Away

WON 2-0

The U12Ds played local rivals St John’s in their last match of the term. Right from the push back it was clear that the girls had come to win, evident when right-midfielder Emily Walsh (Wa) intercepted the ball from the opposition and dribbled the length of the field to nearly score. From then on, the ball stayed in Epsom’s possession for the majority of the match, to the point where defenders and goalkeeper were scarcely needed. However, the few times that the opposition managed to sneak past the defence into the D, Kaylee Townsin (GH) performed brilliantly in deflecting each attempt. The girls struggled to convert their chances into goals and went in to half time at 0-0. The second half was much like the first, however this time the girls managed many more attempts at goal, and two succeeded. The first was an extremely skilful display of brilliance by forward Heeta Vijaykumar (GH) and midfielder Ellie Song (GH), where an attempt faked to the left side of the goal led to a sneaky ball to the other side while the goalkeeper was still recovering. The second goal was an impressive interception by Chloe Hosier (Wa), followed by a field-length run past all of the opposition’s defence, resulting in a flying hit into the net. The girls should all be very proud of how they played on this, their last match of the season, as well as every other match. They have been a delight to coach with the enthusiasm and sportsmanship that they bring to every game.

Goal Scorers: Song (GH), Hosier (Wa)
