Match Report
Epsom College Girls-U12D vs  King Edward VI, Southampton
On: Saturday, 15 Sep 2018
Venue: Away

WON 2-1

The U12D hockey team started slowly due to the fact that many in the team had yet to play a game of hockey. However, as the game progressed, so did the girls’ enthusiasm and skill level, leading to some excellent saves by goalkeeper Millie Milne (Hu), and impressive hits up the field by defender Phoebe Witten (GH). By the end of the first half, the score remained 0-0, however this soon changed when KES’s player of the match scored their only goal. Rather than deterring the girls’ spirits, this goal had the opposite effect, giving them a new boost of energy, leading to a brilliant goal by forward Georgie Watkin (GH), assisted by Emily Walsh’s (Wa) impressive field-length run. This goal was exactly what the rest of the team needed to go on and dominate the rest of the game in both attack and defence, resulting in another goal scored by Georgie Watkins and a final result of 2-1. Special mention to the following girls: Alysha Advani (Wa) for her near-goal and constant enthusiasm, Phoebe Witten for her impressive field-length hits, Kaylee Townsin (GH) for receiving player of the match from the opposition, Millie Milne for her superior knowledge of the game and brilliant goal-keeping, and finally captain Chloe Hosier (Wa) for being a star player in both attack and defence in her first game! Overall, even the girls who were not previously mentioned displayed a tremendous amount of sportsmanship, enthusiasm and positivity, which has made them all very excited for the season ahead.

Goal Scorer: Watkins (GH) x2
