Match Report
Epsom College Boys-U18F vs  Harrow School
On: Saturday, 09 Feb 2019
Venue: at Home

Drew 1-1

Epsom's 'Mighty 6ths' fought through a feisty contest against Harrow to come away with a well-earned point. The first half was very even, with both teams pouring forward in turns and making it an end-to-end affair. However, with Jamie Hughes (H) and Tom McKinlay (C) as Epsom's centreback pairing, Harrow were forced to take long pot-shots, which Harry Lee (H) could easily deal with. Unfortunately, Epsom missed a penalty just before half-time, but with a rousing team talk at the break, the boys walked back out hungrier than ever. Excellent work by Daniel Marriott (C) saw Epsom stay level, as he acrobatically cleared the ball off the line in dramatic fashion, almost earning him the player of the match award. However, a few minutes later, up stepped Tom Ivey (C), who smashed home a 30 yard free-kick to put Epsom ahead and leave everyone stunned at what they had just witnessed. Unfortunately, a bundled goal ten minutes before the end saw Harrow equalise, and a heated end to the match saw very few chances for a winner.
Goal scorer: Ivey (C)
Player of the Match: Tom Ivey (C)
