Epsom College 1st XV vs  St John's School, Leatherhead
On: Saturday, 08 Dec 2018
Venue: at Home

WON 16-3

The 1st XV finished their season on a high, beating local rivals St John's Leatherhead 16-3. Amidst torrid conditions, the first half was littered with turnovers and set pieces as both teams sought a territorial advantage. Epsom went 3-0 up through a Jack Jesty (G) penalty, however for most of the first half, St John's were camped on the Epsom try line but could not find a way through some determined Epsom defence. Epsom eventually cleared their lines and Jesty converted a penalty to make it 6-0 going into half time. Down the slope but into the elements for the second half, Epsom upped their expansive game plan, with Adam Koep (C) eventually going over for a team try. At 11-0 St John's continued to fight and brought it back to 11-3 after some Epsom ill-discipline. From a lineout, Epsom converted pressure into a second try as George Addington (Rn) went over. The score remained 16-3 for the remainder of the game as Epsom sealed a positive end to a tough week of rugby. A good ending to a tremendous season, thank you to all players, parents, coaches and support staff.

Tries: Koep (C), Addington (Rn)
