WON 20-5

The Colts finished the season off with a win as a fantastic end to the season game saw them beat St John’s 20-5. Epsom played with intent and determination in the first half, against the elements, looking at their set piece for domination. Unfortunately, St John’s’ fly half pinned Epsom back deep in their half and a prolonged period of pressure saw Epsom finally cave in, as St John’s pick-and-go game worked for a score. Epsom went in at half time level at 5-5 with Nikolai Marinov (H) crashing over from five metres out. The boys came into the half time huddle very positive to turn up the heat in the second half. The second half was a different story. Epsom worked the weather to their advantage with Tom Lynagh (F) kicking to the corners. The lineout functioned well under Alfie Tann (F) who was calling the shots. The backs had a lot of forward momentum through Will Butt (Rn). Finally five minutes into the second half Epsom took the lead with Olaiya Adeniji (F) making light work of the St John’s goal line defence, Lynagh adding a penalty as Epsom started to ease away from St. John’s. With ten minutes to go, Adeniji bulldozered over once again to take Epsom out of sight.

Tries: Adeniji (F) x2, Marinov (H)

Player of the Match: Will Butt (Rn)
