Match Report
Epsom College Girls-1st XI vs  Haileybury
On: Friday, 07 Sep 2018
Venue: Away

Drew 1-1

The 1st XI played under the lights at the Olympic Park against a very strong Haileybury first XI who featured a number of National League level players. The match started with Haileybury very much on top, with Epsom struggling to move the ball on a slow pitch. Some great saves from Isabel Evans (R) and outstanding tackling and defensive play by Tassy Williams (R) kept Haileybury from scoring. Gradually the team gained a foothold in the match and started to press and create opportunities. After some outstanding play from Liv Wilde (R), Epsom took the lead through Lottie Burton (M) after a well worked short corner. Haileybury equalised after a lapse in defence and then the game continued to move back and forth. Evans saved a penalty stroke to keep Epsom in the game and further chances came for Epsom but the winning goal did not materialise. A great experience for the team and real progress since last year.

Goal Scorer: Burton (M)

Player of the Match: Isabel Evans (R)
