Epsom College Girls-U15B vs  Haileybury
On: Saturday, 08 Sep 2018
Venue: at Home

WON 6-1

The U15Bs made a fantastic start to the season, with a comprehensive victory. After a tight first 20 minutes, the girls started to find their rhythm towards the end of the first half, stringing a series of passes together before it fell to Emily Bain (M) to open the scoring; Ariana Menassa (Rv) added a second just before half time. The game opened up in the second half, with Libby Stirling (M) scoring a hat-trick inside 10 minutes, followed by an own goal taking Epsom into a 6-0 lead. The back four of Freya Calvert (Rv), Sabrina Singh (Rv), Angelina Ivanyuzhenkova (Cr) and Lucy Ellis (W) were resolute in defence throughout, making numerous interceptions and showing no fear by being strong in the tackle to breakdown the Haileybury attacking moves. A lapse in concentration led to Haileybury scoring a consolation in the last minute of the game, but this should not detract from what was a very pleasing display. The midfield and forward line worked tirelessly to win the ball back and make use of the space out wide.

Goal Scorers: Stirling (M) x3, Bain (M), Menassa (Rv), own goal

Player of the Match: Emily Bain (M)
