Venue: at Home

WON 58-12

Epsom had a great first outing, eventually strolling to a 58-12 victory. The first 20 minutes were the quintessential first full outing for both teams, with a lot of hard running and graft being done and a lot less free flowing and wide attacking rugby. Freddie Noble (G) and Luke Laughton (C) x2 both scored tries while Jack Jesty (G) converted one and hit a penalty to take the score to 20-7 at half time. With renewed conviction in their attacking game, Epsom opened up to a high tempo and aggressive offloading game. Laughton got his third, and the floodgates opened as Andrew Palmer (H) x2, Oliver Bliss (Rn), Tom Allen (Fa) and Bertie Bamber (Fa) all scored further tries. A strong start but further tests against Dulwich and Cranleigh follow soon.

Tries: Laughton (C) x3, Palmer (H) x2, Bliss (Rn), Allen (Fa), Bamber (Fa), Noble (P)

Player of the Match: Andrew Palmer (H)
