Match Report
Epsom College Boys-U15A vs  St Paul's School
On: Saturday, 08 Sep 2018
Venue: Away

Lost 14-27

A hard fought, entertaining game eventually swung in St. Paul’s’ favour with a late converted try. Epsom finished the match strongly but could not convert pressure into points. St Paul’s were well organised and pressured the Epsom line for much of the first half. However, some spirited defence kept them down to scoring only 10 points. Epsom scored a very good try through Jude Clark (G) on the stroke of half time, converted by Max Franks (H) to make the score 7-10. The second half was more evenly contested. Charley Redknapp (P) scored under the posts after a period of sustained pressure, converted by Leo Hales (F) and a further breakaway try by Jamie Grubb (P) under the posts would have given Epsom the lead. Unfortunately, there had been an earlier infringement and from the resulting penalty St Paul’s drove over to score a converted try that took the game away from Epsom. Overall it was a very positive performance. All the players put in a great effort but there is much to learn from and improve in the coming weeks.
Tries: Clark (G), Redknapp (P)
