Venue: at Home

WON 25-8

The 1st XV returned to winning ways with a tremendous 25-8 win over Cranleigh. After last week's disappointing performance against Dulwich the team knew they had a lot to prove. The first 20 minutes were filled with mistakes as Epsom were unable to get out of their own half. From a turnover ball, however, Adam Koep (C) was put into space at the halfway line and proceeded to step three Cranleigh defenders before scoring underneath the posts, Jack Jesty (G) converting. Cranleigh then fought their way back with a driving maul just before half time and then opened the second half with a penalty to lead 8-7. Epsom responded valiantly, with Jesty hitting a penalty to regain the lead at 10-7. Riley Milsom (C) then ran a tremendous line, receiving a pass from Andrew Palmer (H), slicing through Cranleigh to go over in the corner. From there Epsom looked in control of the game. The weather affected both sides, with multiple mistakes and drops across the park. Jesty kicked another penalty while Tom Allen (Fa) finished the game with a pick and go try. A much better week of preparation followed by a much better game.

Tries: Koep (C), Milsom (C), Allen (Fa)

Player of the Match: George Addington (Rn) - a complete performance at number 8 in his first starting game.
