Match Report
Epsom College Boys-U14C vs  Cranleigh School
On: Saturday, 22 Sep 2018
Venue: at Home

WON 28-0

There was some trepidation before this match, certainly from the coaches, as the team went into the match without five players from the previous Saturday, a result of injury and promotion. Against a good Cranleigh team, Epsom spent the first half fighting off scraps. However, sterling defence on the line repelled Cranleigh and kept the goal-line intact at half-time with the score at 0-0, albeit having lost another centre to injury. Playing downhill in the second half the Epsom attack had far more quick ball. Forwards drove with purpose and recycled and the backs looked dangerous. The first and third scores came from driving play close to the line. The second try was quite outstanding, following driving play and a short pass, Louis Saint (G) ran an excellent line and finished under the posts. Shortly before the end, George Holmes (G) crossed to make it four tries to nil; he also converted all the scores.

Tries: Elsom (C), Saint (G), Knighton (P), Holmes (G)

Players of the Match: George Holmes (G) - orchestrated some excellent attacks and led the line in defence.
