On: Saturday, 06 Oct 2018
Venue: Away

WON 19-7

Epsom started strongly against Canford and dominated possession in the first half. Kit Temperley (Rn) ran in an impressive individual try off a scrum within the Epsom half and added the conversion to make it 7-0. Epsom continued to control the game but were unable to convert possession into tries. Eventually, Seumas MacLeod (H) was unleashed from the back of a maul and went on to break a string of tackles to score under the posts in a thunderous fashion to make it 14-0. It was a frantic start to the second half for Epsom as they missed many easy opportunities to score. Conversely, Canford seemed reinvigorated and their smart strategic rugby led to a lineout within Epsom’s 22 and, soon after, a try to make it 14-7. A Canford injury resulted in a 10- minute hiatus and a change of pitch. Epsom restarted well off a scrum and Lucas Schmid (Fa) scored swiftly in the corner to make it 19-7. Canford controlled the game for the remainder, but, despite several threatening lines, they were unable to score again.

Tries: Temperley (Rn), MacLeod (H), Schmid (Fa)
