Venue: at Home

Lost 17-19

The JCAs lost narrowly to a strong and athletic Harrow side by the closest of margins in an excellent game of junior colts rugby. Epsom started the game well, arguably playing some of the best rugby of the season so far for much of the first half and scoring three unanswered tries through Leo Hales (F), Josh King (H) and Jude Clark (G). However, frustratingly, intensity dropped off just before half time, allowing Harrow to score in the final play of the half. Unfortunately, Epsom also started the second half slowly, now playing up the slope and into a strong wind. Harrow took full advantage scoring two further tries, giving the away team a 19-17 lead with just ten minutes to play. Epsom’s response at this point showed real grit but the home side was not quite able to take the chances that they created, ultimately giving Harrow the victory. There were many positive to be taken from the game and the team has made significant progress during this half term. The challenge now is to maintain this momentum for the rest of the season.

Tries: Clark (G), King (H), Hales (F)
