Venue: at Home

Lost 14-32

This was a thrilling fixture. Harrow got off to a blistering start to score in the corner within the first five minutes. Epsom responded well and, after several determined phases, Kit Temperley (Rn) scored under the posts and added the conversion to make it 7-5. Fred Copus (C) took the ball well from the kick off and began a barnstorming run, crashing through three defenders and off-loading to Tom Glynne-Percy (G) who went down just short of the line. Harrow returned with a few exquisite phases to score under the posts to make it 7-12 and then turned over an Epsom scrum to make it 7-17. Harrow continued to dominate the scrum, but the match was evenly contested in open play, with thrilling phases put together by both sides. Eventually, Epsom relented to Harrow’s strong pack, who mauled and mauled until they scored under the posts to make it 7-25. Epsom responded well, Temperley scooping up a loose ball in his own half and charging down the field to score and convert to take the game to 14-25 with ten minutes to go. Epsom controlled the remainder of the match and were constantly within striking distance; however, they were unable to convert possession into points and allowed Harrow to have the final word in an exhilarating fixture.
