WON 43-7

This was a true game of two halves, with an excellent first half against a tough RGS side. With the hill against them, Epsom put in some fantastic defensive work against a well-drilled RGS pack, holding their own in the first match of the season with contested scrums. Lochlan Kirwan (H) controlled the back line and enabled some great breaks to occur from George Holmes (G), Arthur Tatham (Rn) and Harry Savigar (Rn), resulting in tries for each. A fourth try from Tim Knighton (P), due to strong forward play, resulted in a half time score of 22-7 to Epsom. The second half was punctuated by unforced errors, in spite of the hill advantage, allowing RGS to creep back into the game and increase turnovers at the ruck. Vladimir Drobnokhod (G) scored two superb tries from well-rehearsed lineouts, with Epsom camped out in the RGS half in the last ten minutes of the game. A break from Dider Gore (C) resulted in a try in the closing minutes, ending the match with a 43-7 victory to Epsom.

Tries: Drobnokhod (G) x2, Holmes (G), Tatham (Rn), Savigar (Rn), Knighton (P), Gore (C)
