Match Report
Epsom College Boys-U15C vs  Hurstpierpoint College
On: Saturday, 01 Dec 2018
Venue: Away

WON 22-0

This season has tested the U15Cs in a variety of conditions and today was the turn of the mud. It was clear from the outset that this was not going to be a day for silky backs moves, and the team had the maturity to adapt accordingly. Neither team was able to take control of the first half, which was characterised by nervy catenaccio in defence and frustration in attack. Fortunes changed in the second half, with Epsom looking far more assured from the starting whistle. No one looked more comfortable than Finn Walmsley (H) at full back, who initiated a series of blistering attacks from under the high, swirling Hurstpierpoint clearance kicks. He scored one try of his own in this way, and set up two more for Jack Rich (H) in a similar fashion. Ollie King (Rn) also deserves a mention for his marshalling role at scrum half and the excellent tackles he made when the time called for it. It is fantastic to have won a fourth match in a row and all eyes are now on St John’s next week.

Tries: Rich (H) x2, Walmsley (H)

Player of the Match: Finn Walmsley (H)
