Match Report
Epsom College Boys-U14B vs  Hurstpierpoint College
On: Saturday, 01 Dec 2018
Venue: at Home

WON 45-0

After a rigorous set of training sessions this week, which went back to basics, the U14Bs seem to have clicked into a pattern of whole team play. From the first whistle, Epsom looked to control the game through a series of set plays, phase by phase, in an organised manner. Hurstpierpoint barely closed in on the Epsom half but it took some time for the home side to hit the try line. The forwards were dominant, breaking through lines of defence, securing rucks and creating opportunities for the half-backs to give great service to the backs, who made great ground during various phases of play. Individuals stood out, but this was a whole team performance where each and every player played their part. 19-0 up by half time, a rousing team talk, with some key indicators, set out the stall for a second half going down the slope on Chud 3. Four further tries were despatched in the second half, with conversions duly slotted. This was the best team performance so far this season and everyone stepped up to create a great penultimate win of the term as St John’s awaits.

Tries: Esson (F) x3, Harris (Fa) x2, Berendji (P), Jackson (P)

Players of the Match: All 18 players - simply excellent; a complete and whole team performance.
