Match Report
Epsom College 5th VII vs  King's College School (KCS), Wimbledon
On: Saturday, 19 Jan 2019
Venue: at Home

WON 21-12

The 5ths won a gripping encounter. The first quarter ended in a draw but Epsom came out fighting. Amy Taylor (Rv) and Yazzi Gokcemen (Rv) made an excellent team in defence and managed to stop the attackers on multiple occasions, allowing Epsom to stay ahead. By the third quarter the girls had gained momentum and Marina Zockoll (R) made some vital interceptions in the centre third which meant the ball could stay out of the danger zone. Cara Robinson (Rv) and Ella McGovern (R) worked hard to gain possession as WA/WD which allowed Kiona Townsin (M) and Chrissy Maye (R) to work their magic as GS and GA. They continued to gain confidence during the match and scored a total of 7 goals in the final quarter. The teamwork is getting stronger each week and the girls impressed with their enthusiasm and perseverance, especially with no subs to help.
Player of the Match: Marina Zockoll (R) - for her strong overall performance in all quarters.
