v Riddlesdown WON 9-0

v St George's lost 3-4

The girls started slowly against Lingfield and nerves showed. Unforced errors meant they often lost possession but the girls dug deep to get the win. In the next match against Croydon High, the girls again played tentatively. They had many chances to win the game but just did not capitalise on them. Going into the third game against Harrodian the girls started to play the style of netball they have worked hard in training to focus on, with timing of moves down the court much better and driving towards the ball well. Play was sometimes rushed but they controlled the game to get the 8-2 win. Against Riddlesdown they were much calmer and dominated throughout. Sadly, when it came to the Alleyns game the girls had lost their focus. Rather than playing as a team they played as individuals, not reading off each other, crowding each other’s space and with poor timing and movement. Going into the last game it was all to play for. St George's pulled ahead immediately and at half time they were 3-0 up. Epsom again had chances to keep with St George's but silly errors gave away vital possession. After team changes they started strongly in the second half, pulling back to bring the score level. They had the chance to take the lead but it just was not to be for them today and missed opportunities allowed St George's back into the game and they won by a single goal to pip Epsom to qualification.
