Epsom College Girls-U15E vs  Cranleigh School
On: Saturday, 09 Feb 2019
Venue: at Home

WON 10-5

It was always going to be a tough match against Cranleigh, especially when the opposition had been unbeaten for a year and a half. The match started strongly however, with two quick goals from GA Kate Collie (M) going unmatched in the first quarter. Into the second quarter it was clear Cranleigh had fight in them. A lot of quick movement up and down court meant both defenders and attackers needed to keep on their toes. Again and again, Suzie Zu (W) in GK and Kaycee Padayachy (M) in GD managed to snatch the ball away, denying the opposition the chance to score. At the other end, more goals came to Kate Collie as well as Hollie Gard (R), successfully starting in GS. The third quarter saw Cranleigh fight back, but Epsom matched them goal for goal, after getting Vanessa Kwan (Cr) back into the shooting circle. She showed calmness under pressure, even when a shot when into the net, only to then pop back out the top! In the end, the match was won thanks to the tireless efforts in the centre court. Both Amelia Wang (W) and Michelle Yip (W) were the lynchpin to the whole effort, making quick movements, calling strategy out to the team and stealing the ball from Cranleigh time and time again. A well deserved win, the girls should be really proud of their performance.
