Match Report
Epsom College Girls-U12A vs  Thomas's, Clapham
On: Wednesday, 21 Nov 2018
Venue: at Home

Lost 8-11

Sophie Long's (Wa) absence meant the team was missing one of their best shooters. but this gave an opportunity to see other combinations. Epsom’s play in the first quarter was rushed and basic skills were not as good as they could have been, as the girls finished it 2-7 down. In the second quarter, and with another change around, the girls played much better, pulling back and winning the quarter to reduce the deficit to 5-8. Hannahli Foley-Outeiral (Hu) moved from wing defence to goal shooter and worked well with Mia Herbert (GH) at goal attack. Olivia Diri (Hu) moved from goal shooter to goal defence and was key at making it harder for the Thomas’s attack to pass into the circle, and harder for them to shoot. However, with strong defensive pressure by a talented Thomas’s team, the girls could not maintain the momentum and possession was lost too often going through the court. The second half was a draw. Thomas’s skills were better than Epsom and they worked well as a team, but the Epsom girls showed real potential and have a determination to do their best.

Players of the Match: Georgina Carrington (Wa) and Olivia Diri (Hu)
