Match Report
Epsom College Boys-U13A vs  Hurstpierpoint College
On: Wednesday, 17 Oct 2018
Venue: at Home

Lost 10-25

A very hard fought physical game with Epsom falling the wrong side of the final result. Going into the game the U13 squad was able to just about field a team of 12 players and unfortunately due to fatigue in the latter stages of the match this took its toll. At half time the score was 10-5 to Hurstpierpoint after a fantastic defensive display from Epsom. The sight of Milo Fitzhugh (Wa) running the length of the field to score a superb try is now becoming a weekly occurrence, and gave Epsom the early lead. An outstanding tackling master class and defensive display led by Connor Mullen-Brandler (Hu) and the rest of the team unfortunately could not keep out Hurstpierpoint’s two well worked tries before half time. Further injury meant for a short period Epsom were down to 11 players and this told as Hurstpierpoint scored back to back tries. The U13As battled bravely to the very last whistle and, although the score does not reflect it, this has to go down as the best performance of the season so far, finished off by a powerful run and score by Sam Kirby (GH).

Tries: M Fitzhugh (Wa), Kirby (GH)

Player of the Match: Connor Mullen-Brandler (Hu)
