Match Report
Epsom College Girls-U14C vs  Lord Wandsworth College
On: Saturday, 22 Sep 2018
Venue: Away

WON 7-4

On a miserable rainy day, the U14Cs battled Lord Wandsworth initially on a smaller, 7 aside pitch. The opposition came out firing, scoring two goals in quick succession within the first few minutes. However, neither the score nor the weather kept midfielder Edie Pettit (Rv) down, as she soon scored the first of many goals in the match. By half time the score was 1-2 and the girls were more motivated than ever to win this game. The next rotation of players took to the pitch, resulting in a cracking field-length assist by defender Sara Hawkins (M) to Bethany Walsh (Wh), who converted this hit as a 1 v 1 into the goal. The rest of the match was neck and neck, with the final score being 3-3. The game moved to a larger pitch when it became available and the sound of the ball hitting the opposition backboard became more familiar as the girls dominated the final 25 minutes. Lauren Gurney’s (R) tremendous efforts in defence and Lucy Pickering’s (Cr) swift attacking skills landed them players of the match, while special thanks go to Meely Thesiger (R) for being team captain today.

Goal Scorers: Pettit (Rv) x2, Pickering (Cr) x2, Lowndes (M) x2, Walsh (Wh)
