Match Report
Epsom College Girls-1st XI vs  Bradfield College
On: Saturday, 17 Nov 2018
Venue: at Home

Drew 1-1

In the final home game for many of the 1st XI, the girls faced tough opponents. The first half was a close battle, with both sides having good opportunities to score, but denied by high quality goalkeeping. Isabel Evans (R) was once again key to keeping the scores level at half time. During the break, the team set themselves objectives to increase the speed of play, both on and off the ball. The second half was much better, with Epsom pressing relentlessly to find a goal. In a rare Bradfield attack, a few mistakes in deep defence allowed Bradfield to take the lead against the run of play. Epsom continued to press and created numerous opportunities. After some good forward play, Epsom finally got the equaliser through a powerful short corner strike by Cecilia Sacklen (M). The team continued to look for the winner, but just failed to get the winning goal. A shame not to win the final home match of the season, but good to finish with a positive result.

Goal Scorer: Sacklen (M)

Player of the Match: Elisabeth Phizackerley (Cr)
