Epsom College Girls-5th XI vs  Reed's School
On: Saturday, 08 Dec 2018
Venue: Away

WON 2-0

After a season of defeats, cancellations and disappointment the 5ths returned to Reeds for the re-match with quite a resigned attitude. After a rethink on positions, and a change of short corner play the girls began their last match with enthusiasm and were immediately on the attack. They had a lot of success getting the ball into the Reeds D, but the aim was messy and despite numerous attempts, they failed to score. Half time saw a lot of tactic talk from the captain and as the first half began they quickly took the ball and Holly Darlaston (R) scored with relative ease. After the subsequent push back, they managed to regain possession and score again almost immediately, putting themselves 2-0 up. Happily, they retained possession for the majority of the second half and with some sterling work from Becky Hanney (R), they managed to prevent Reeds from scoring by putting them under a lot of pressure and defending the goal well. Henri Muller (Rv) was superb as goalkeeper. A worthy win after a long wait for many of the team - well done!

Goal Scorer: Darlaston (R) x2

Players of the Match: Becky Hanney (R) and Scarlett O’Byrne (Rv)
