Match Report
Epsom College Girls-U13A vs  Alleyn's School
On: Saturday, 17 Nov 2018
Venue: at Home

Lost 1-3

This game offered tough opposition; pressure, strong tackles and minimal time on the ball. This was great for the girls and was a real test to see how Epsom would respond, especially with captain Amelia Burke (Wa) temporarily out of action. Amy Henwood (Hu) secured a 1-0 lead. Sadly, Epsom did not respond particularly well to the pressure they then came under with team defence not tight enough and forcing balls into congested pockets. After clarification at half time as to what they could implement in the second half, the girls did exactly that. In fact, Epsom did everything but score. Ella Stephens (Wa) was trying her best to get shots on goal but they were just not quite converting. It was impressive to see the fight and determination and how individual performances improved to provide a much better second half performance. Particular mention must go to the effort and grit from Amy Henwood, a driving force in the midfield. Lots to take away from the game that will help the girls get stronger.

Goal Scorer: Henwood (Hu)
Players of the Match: Amy Henwood (Hu) and Ella Stephens (Wa)
