Epsom College Girls-U18A vs  TASIS The American School in England
On: Wednesday, 12 Sep 2018
Venue: at Home

WON 3-0

3 sets to Epsom 25-19; 25-16; 25-20 (extra friendly 15-9)

The girls played an excellent match against a TASIS team who came across as very used to playing together with a well-oiled warm-up routine and supportive chants.
Epsom remained calm and confident in their own ability and in one another. The sets were very tight from the start, with 1 or 2 points between the two sides, but Epsom always managed to eradicate the very few unforced errors they committed. Communication was second to none, with Jeannie Neth (Cr) in particular helping her peer-players in points where two were going for the same ball by calling out who was best placed, to great effect. Her hit pick-ups were also impressive, with great court coverage. Rachel Wong’s (Cr) serves were not only accurate but also aggressive and very hard to pick up by the opposition. Kay Chan’s (Wh) hits were consistent and relentless with a very accurate top-down hit which impressed all around. Celini Mak (Wh) also displayed a well-practised and effective hit.
All the players remained positive and displayed great team work and effort under pressure. A match to be proud of.
