Match Report
Epsom College 1st VII vs  Fairland's Netball Club
On: Wednesday, 26 Sep 2018
Venue: Away

The 1st VII had their first competitive outing against a local, highly experienced, adult County League team.
The evening was treated as a training match, with the girls taking the opportunity to learn from their opponents as well as seeing how combinations worked in this newly formed squad.
Key areas for development were identified but overall the play was excellent. Most impressive was the extremely low error rate, particularly when considering the experience and high level of pressure from their opposition.
Despite the pressure the girls held their own, keeping possession well and winning the ball throughout the court. Shooting stats from Ellie Thwaites (M) were excellent at 93% and Ellie Cooke (R) impressed at Centre, linking the play well. Ebube Akojie (Wh), Adahna Ekoku (Rv) and Sophie Rhodes (R) in circle defence worked well together, making it extremely hard for Fairlands to pass into their strong shooting circle.
Fairlands were impressed with the Epsom girls, especially considering they have only been together for 3 weeks. This group of girls has immediately bonded and show exceptional promise. Excited for the season ahead!
