Match Report
Epsom College Girls-5th XI vs  Brighton College Girls-U16B
On: Saturday, 13 Oct 2018
Venue: at Home

Lost 0-3

On an unseasonably warm afternoon, Epsom’s 5ths played their second match of the season against a very solid and well-drilled U16B side who have had a much busier season. Their experience and cohesion as a team were no match for the 5ths and the first half saw two goals conceded. The girls were strong in defence and Rebecca Hanney (R) was punchy and strong as sweeper. She played with real gusto which, combined with Scarlett O’Byrne’s (Rv) guest appearance in goal, thwarted several attempts on goal. Some slightly chaotic play in the D meant several short corners were conceded, but the girls’ determination and practice paid off and no goals were scored by Brighton. The attack is a work in progress as there was a real lag when the ball moved towards the Brighton goal. Considering it was their second match, and their first with this particular line up, they did themselves proud.
