On: Wednesday, 16 Jan 2019
Venue: at Home

Drew 3-3

Thrown in at the deep end with a match during their first games session the U12As struggled to get up to pace and with the basic elements of the game. This did not stop Epsom from opening the scoring through Phoebe Lyes (Hu) who finished well at the back post. Thomas's Clapham quickly came back into the game, scoring three times before half time, all three goals coming from quick breaks leaving Mia Herbert (GH) exposed 1 on 1. The second half was an improvement, with Epsom playing with more intent. This did not stop Thomas's creating a number of chances and Epsom were saved by Mia Herbert in the net. Epsom kept pushing and a good run down the right saw Sophie Long (Wa) score at the near post, closely followed by a great strike from Lucy Campbell (Hu) which deflected off a defender's stick into the top corner. With the game heading for a draw Thomas's won a penalty stroke, which was put wide and the game finished level.

Goal scorers: Lyes (Hu), Long (Wa), Campbell (Hu)

Player of the Match: Mia Herbert (GH)
