Match Report
Epsom College Girls-U12D vs  Alleyn's School
On: Saturday, 17 Nov 2018
Venue: Away

Lost 2-3

The U12Ds started well, with countless interceptions from midfielder Priya Sirah (Hu), fluid passing down the field by midfielder Chloe Hosier (Wa), and swift attacking of the circle by Heeta Vijaykumar (GH). The girls fired attempt after attempt at the goal until finally Vijaykumar slipped a reverse hit into the goal to take the lead. At half time the score was still 1-0 in Epsom’s favour, leaving the girls in high spirits. The second half started just as enthusiastically as the first, with the girls gaining the majority of possession throughout the half. However, a couple of interceptions by the opposition resulted in Epsom conceding two goals in quick succession. Rather than deterring the girls’ spirits, this only served to further encourage them, resulting in some fantastic tackles by defenders Ellie Song (GH) and captain Alysha Advani (Wa), impressive field-length hits by Kaylee Townsin (GH) and Lisa Demina (GH) as well as tremendous saves by goalkeeper Phoebe Witten (GH). Soon enough, Vijaykumar scored another good goal, after midfielder Emily Walsh’s (Wa) impressive field-length run, to level the score at 2-2. As the game drew to a close, the girls tried desperately to score the winner. However, in the last 20 seconds of the match, it was Alleyn’s that secured the victory. The girls showed great skill and spirit in what was most definitely their best game of the season.
