Match Report
Epsom College Girls-U13D vs  Thomas's, Clapham Girls-U13B
On: Wednesday, 14 Nov 2018
Venue: at Home

Lost 2-8 and 1-12

The U13D girls played two games against Thomas's Clapham and Thomas's Battersea.
It started off as battle for possession as in defence Raquel Williams (Hu) made some great interceptions. Unfortunately, the opposition scored 6 quick goals. Epsom managed to retaliate quickly with shooters, Minette Marshal (Hu) and Charlotte Townsend (GH) scoring 2 goals. The girls then managed to hold off any further points from the other team by maintaining the majority of the possession but were unable to convert these points. At halftime the score was 2-6. The girls were fired up and determined to fight back and give their opponents a challenge with strong passes from Beatrice Digance (Wa) and Isabelle Allison (Wa) and excellent rebounds from Francesca Silvano (Wa) to only have 2 additional goals scored against them.
The girls then changed courts to play their second match of the afternoon, against Thomas's Clapham. They were determined and not fazed by the opposing team’s overall height advantage and throughout the match, excellent defence was maintained by Lily Day (GH) and Raquel Williams’s excellent rebounds. Both Alice de Groot (GH) and Jess Strange (Wa) made some excellent interceptions to overturn possession multiple times. Unfortunately, the opposition were extremely accurate in their shooting to give them a healthy first half lead. The tide was stemmed in the second half and Charlotte Townsend managed a goal for Epsom towards the end.
The girls can be proud of the improvements made from the 2018 Lent term and are looking promising for the upcoming season.

Player of the Match: Charlotte Townsend (GH)
