Epsom College Boys-U14D vs  Sevenoaks School Boys-U14C
On: Saturday, 01 Dec 2018
Venue: at Home

WON 56-10 (photo attached)

The challenge of a capable Sevenoaks C team was brushed aside in the opening minutes as the pace and power of Harry Pearson (H) brought two early tries down the hill. Another soon followed from Sean Ting (G), while Freddy Daniels (F) produced a stunning line to burst through for a fourth try before half time. Although caution was exercised, with the Chuds notorious for games of two halves, the result was never really in doubt. Two tries conceded just before and after half time focused the minds a little, but a better joined up display in the second half up the hill was testament to the improvement the boys have made. A few missed tackles still rankle but Julian Pearl (C) was an inspiration with his energy and dogged defence, while the half back pairing of Lorcan McMahon (F) and Max Hawkins (F) ran the show. The irrepressible Harry Boxer (G) deserves mention for his all-round game and 100% conversion kicking following extensive practice midweek. An impressive team performance.

Tries: Pearson (H) x3, Daniels (F) x2, Boxer (G), Rajnikanth (Fa), Ting (G)

Players of the Match: Lorcan McMahon (F) – for a mature and creative display at scrum-half and his conversion, and Julian Pearl (C) – for excellent tackling and commitment, and one outstanding solo effort that so nearly brought glory.
