Epsom College Boys-U14E vs  Brighton College
On: Saturday, 12 Jan 2019
Venue: Away

WON 3-0

An exciting game of football between two extremely competitive teams. However, at all times Epsom had the majority of the ball and played with some real class, and dogged determination. The centre backs are to be commended but particularly captain Tom Glynne-Percy (G). Every time there was any danger he was able to clear the defensive lines beautifully. Daniel Lodge (C) was rock solid at left back and snuffed out any wide attacks from Brighton. There was also some committed work from the Epsom midfield in tracking back and closing down any possible Brighton threat. Under pressure, the backs and midfield players remained calm and unaffected. Harry Savigar (Rn) made some lovely runs off the ball, creating space for further attacking play in the Brighton penalty area. Aarav Rajnikanth (Fa) focussed in that midfield alongside Max Stoddard (Fa) continually thwarted any attacking runs from the opposition. Julian Pearl (C) had an excellent game playing alongside Dara Sherafat (Fa) as the Epsom strike force, Pearl going on to score two perfectly worked goals ten minutes into the first half, and fifteen into the second. Great combination play between Leo Hart (G) and Daniel Tretyakov (P) on several occasions resulted in Epsom moving ahead comfortably when Rajnikanth picked up the ball outside the box to score the third Epsom goal to close out the game. It was a splendid all-round effort and all members of the team can be proud of a good afternoon's work, well executed. A fabulous and encouraging start to the season.
