Match Report
Epsom College Girls-U13A vs  Surbiton High School
On: Saturday, 09 Feb 2019
Venue: at Home

WON 2-1

A fantastic fixture against Surbiton High will hold the side in good stead going into the county tournament in around a month's time. Epsom took an early lead, hitting Surbiton High on the break and Ella Stephens (Wa) finished of the counter-attack well. Chances came for both sides with some excellent play leading to the ball flashing in front of the face of the goal, but no one was able to get a touch to turn the ball in. Another counter-attack before half time meant Amelia Burke (Wa) was able to slot the ball coolly past the goal keeper. Surbiton came back into the game in the second half and scored an early goal, which was well taken at the back post. The game was very much end to end and both sides could well have scored but strong defending from Imogen Stoole (Hu) and top goal keeping from Amber Roberts (GH) kept the score at 2-1.

Goal scorers: Stephens (Wa), Burke (Wa)
Player of the Match: Amber Roberts (GH) - valuable saves to get the side the win
