Match Report
Epsom College Girls-U13A vs  Reigate Grammar School
On: Saturday, 12 Oct 2019
Venue: Away

Drew 1-1

In a topsy-turvy game that included some sublime hockey from both teams, a draw seemed a fair result. Whilst two Reigate players in particular - the goalkeeper and right half - had fantastic games, Epsom showed strong performances across the team. Having gone a goal down through a nasty deflection, the girls set about building their way into the game. Some incisive passing between Gina Carrington (Wa) and Sophie Long (Wa) led to Phoebe Lyes (Hu) scoring the equaliser. Olivia Diri (Hu) then struck the post with a vicious slap shot before other efforts by Edie McLennan Fordyce (Wa) and Hannahli Foley-Outeiral (Hu) fell agonisingly short of giving Epsom the lead. As the game wore on, Epsom grew in confidence, fuelled by the solid, assertive and skilful Madeleine O'Brien (GH), who produced a player of the match performance at the back. Mia Herbert (GH) again showed her consistency in goal, with the draw the final result.

Goal Scorer: Lyes (Hu)
