Match Report
Epsom College Boys-U16C vs  Harrow School
On: Saturday, 12 Oct 2019
Venue: at Home

WON 7-5

The equalising try from Will Busby (P) and match winning conversion from Olivier Wong (G) were scored at the very end of the first half. This was just reward for highly competitive play from the Epsom pack, who had pinned Harrow in their 22 from the start of the game. Will Busby (P), Otto Lapidus (G) and Kai Eisenhart-Goodwin (G) were tireless in the forwards on an afternoon when rucking rugby was the order of the day. As the rain continued to fall, play in the second half became more sporadic, but with the advantage of the slope Epsom continued to play the game in the opposition’s half. With good defensive pressure from the backs and able kicking from the foot of the scrum by Olivier Wong (G), Epsom looked to extend their lead. However, a combination of effective defence and handling errors meant that Epsom ended the game hanging on to a game that could have been more easily won. Nonetheless, a famous win and the team can look to their remaining fixtures confident that similar performances will see them win more games.

Try: Busby (P)

Player of the Match: Otto Lapidus (G)
