Venue: Away

Lost 2-3

A young Girls V came close to beating a much more experienced Sevenoaks team. At first seed, Flo Tanguy (Cr) came back from losing an untidy first game, winning the second 12-10 and opening up a 7-0 lead in the third before her opponent retired injured; Flo, only in M4, is thus far unbeaten in College matches, a promising start to her career. Captain Holy Darlaston (R) fought hard at second seed, but struggled to deal with her opponent’s powerful serve, losing 0-3. Third seed Emily Vandrau (R) nearly won the first game of the third seed match, following some entertaining rallies, but her opponent then stepped up a level to win 3-0. Player of the match was fourth seed Maddie Pearce (R), who went two games down, but then produced some excellent squash to win the ensuing three games 11-4, 11-8, 11-7. In the deciding match, Charlotte Thesiger (R) made an impressive debut for the College, improving throughout a closely-fought match, eventually losing 1-3.
