Match Report
Epsom College Girls-U13D vs  Feltonfleet School
On: Saturday, 11 Sep 2021
Venue: at Home

Drew 1-1

On an overcast Saturday morning the U13Ds played their first match of the season – a welcome sight to see so many girls back playing in competitive sports matches. During the first half Epsom dominated the majority of the play. Lola Hales (Hu) played exceptionally well, having five shots at goal, but unfortunately she was not able to convert in the first 20 minutes. The match remained level throughout the first half, which was down to some excellent defending from Ana Clare Rocha-Pannetier (Wa) and Olivia Georgiou (Je). The girls made some excellent last minute tackles and their defending helped protect the Epsom keeper Lucy Peer (Hu), who bravely stepped up from the U12s in her first competitive match at the College. Sienna Lewis (GH) came on in the middle of the first half to help with the attacking play and put a lot of pressure on the Feltonfleet defence with goal line poaching. Violet Tobin (Je), Hannah McIntyre Brown (Wa) and Alexa Neglen (Hu) all ran hard in midfield and it was their vision and passing that helped Epsom convert a chance in the second half, scored by Hales. Unfortunately, Feltonfleet managed to score an equaliser quickly after this, tying the match at 1-1. Imogen Kennel (Je) ably assisted with coaching tips and rule explanations and for the first match back after only one training session the girls played amazingly well.
